Patotech
The Skills
Patotech Software's technical capabilities include:
- Multiple development languages, including Visual C++, C,
Visual Basic, Java, VB Script, Java Script, COBOL
and Pascal.
- Website design and maintenance using Active Server Pages,
Internet Information Server, PhotoShop
- Client/Server processing and mainframe processing, both
Batch and on-line (CICS),
- Relational database development at the mainframe, PC and
Intra / Internet server levels (DB2, DB2 Universal, MS SQL Server, Oracle, SQL Base and
Sybase SQL Anywhere)
- CASE-tool-supported design and development
- PC-based development under Microsoft's Windows 95, 98 and
Windows NT 4.0
- Off-site development capabilities using Patotech's own
test and development facilities
Recent systems development has included:
- A website for a restaurant that allows updating of daily specials and beverage lists
running under IIS 3.0 using Active Server Pages, VB Script, JavaScript and a Sybase
DBAnywhere database. The application requires users to log on to a maintenance site to
perform table maintenance. Page graphics were developed using PhotoShop 5.0.
- A Windows NT application to allow the updating of Machine Group tables for SMS
maintenance. This applciation was developed using Visucal C++ 5.0, MS SQL Server
6.5, Win32 API and ODBC.
- An e-commerce application running under IIS 3.0 using Active Server Pages, VB Script,
JavaScript and an Oracle 8 for NT database. This application allows clients to establish
and maintain custom catalogs including images. The client catalogs are created from the
database entries using an ActiveX control running on the server. The pages are generated
as static HTML pages to allow search engines to more easily locate client products.
- A customer service application running under Windows 95
using Visual C++ and MFC 5.0 that is used by several Customer Service Representatives to
process over 9000 customer accounts. The application incorporated several modeless dialogs
that allow the service representative to view particular account attributes. The
application accesses all data via ODBC from a MS SQLServer 6.5 database running under NT
Server 4.0. Several stored procedures are used to retrieve and update various tables in
the database. The application also includes a rating and pricing module, a Bellcore
standard output formatting module for message exchange between Telephone Operating
companies, a bill statement formatting and printing module. A support application was also
developed to be used by the Call Center Director for inbound and outbound call analysis.
The on-line Help file was developed using RoboHelp95. All reports were developed using
Crystal Reports.
- A client application running under Windows 95 using Visual
C++ and MFC 4.2b that manages a Windows NT based PBX call processor for jail facilities.
This application uses all Windows 95 controls as well as the standard Windows interface
controls. The application is multi-threaded and displays current call activity on a real
time basis via TCP/IP communication with the host. Data is accessed via TCP/IP from a
Sybase server database. Embedded SQL and Stored Procedures are used to retrieve data for
the application. The application has several reports that were developed using Crystal
Reports Professional 5.0. The current call activity window uses a list control and employs
a popup tooltip style window to display call details when the cursor is over any call for
more than one second. The system management functions are displayed using a tab control
with embedded list controls. The application uses several ActiveX controls for masks,
calendars and help access. The on-line help file was developed using RoboHelp95.
- An NT Service and graphical control program to allow custom
configuration and custom execution for the call detail records for all calls completed by
the system. This application uses several functions in the Win32 SDK (Platform SDK).
- The design and development of the California State
Automobile Association membership database and membership processing system. This system
processes approximately 75,000 transactions daily for over 3 million members. This project
was designed by Patotech and developed by Patotech using both Patotech employees and three
CSAA employees which Patotech trained and technically managed throughout the project
lifecycle.
- An on-line and batch inter-company order processing system,
which uses DB2 and CICS to create, edit, and control product orders in an
industry-specific tag-value-object format. This system, consisting of seven batch
programs, fifteen CICS programs, and six DB2 tables, runs twenty-four hours a day, six
days per week, with an average accessibility of ten-users.
- An on-line and batch intra-company labor billing and
reporting system, which uses DB2 and CICS to compile, verify, and bill repair hours
performed for outside firms, and track repair activity and revenue by reporting
department. This system, encompassing eight batch programs, twenty-five on-line programs,
and twelve DB2 tables, runs twenty-four hours a day, six days per week, with an average
accessibility of seventy-five users in twenty-five regional centers throughout California.
- An interactive system which allows outside firms to submit
orders for specific products and have those orders edited, tracked, and billed (along with
regular business products) to some 200,000 customers per month. This system, which
includes over 40 batch and on-line programs accessing eight DB2 tables, runs twenty-four
hours a day, six days per week, with an average accessibility of twenty users.
